Elizabeth Pollie, OPA, AWAM
Elizabeth Pollie’s personal art history extends back decades. Art as a path, a language and a personal frontier has been present from the time of her childhood. She grew up visiting museums, studying and drawing alongside her father. She earned her BFA from The College For Creative Studies where she later taught.
Her career in art has been broad and has included editorial illustration, printmaking and painting.
“The intrigue and intimacy found in observing the surrounding world provides me with ceaseless inspiration. There is a great sense of freedom as well as a spirit of discovery that is derived through the act of creating imagery.”
With a background that includes a variety of media she enjoys combining them to create evocative pieces ranging from large-scale paintings to journal entries.“How we see the world is often built upon the stories we carry within. Art can become a memoir, an observation and even a catalyst for transformation. Ultimately, it is a way of leaving behind the confines of spoken language and embracing a visual vocabulary unbound from rules and habits.”
Pollie’s work has received a very strong reception in the art world, collecting numerous awards as well as national media coverage.
