As I sit at my computer, I feel a warm breeze on my face from my open patio door as I enjoy the warmth of this beautiful summer day in Innsbruck, Austria. I will forever hear the chimes of the church bells that waft in with the warm air. The mountains are so green that it is hard to imagine the color that hits you so intensely with its thousands of subtle hues. The fresh mountain air has a crisp scent of pine. From my window, I see the city laid out below me like a lovely patchwork. Innsbruck has everything that all big cities have except on a smaller scale: music, plays, performances, dance, gardens, culture, cafes, amazing coffee and fine dining and wonderful hotels. Innsbruck is surrounded by mountains, I mean everywhere you look . . . I mean 360 degrees around you! You can start in the heart of the medieval downtown and be on top of a mountain in 20 minutes! This trip involves a cog train and a gondola with beautiful expansive views. When you come to the top you can, eat lunch, have a coffee, a beer, a hike or in the winter ski! I have lived on this mountain above Innsbruck for 5 years and have fallen deeply, madly in love with this city and its surrounding valleys and mountains.
Innsbruck is in the western part of Austria close to both the German and Italian borders. We had planned to stay here for 3 years when we first came 5 years ago. Clearly we haven’t left yet!
I am so excited to be able to share my beloved city and all the places I have traveled for the last 5 years with you! I will be leading small group travel tours for 8 to 12 people that will combine travel, culture, and community! We will connect with each other and the regions and countries we visit. The families that have owned the inns, restaurants, wineries or businesses for generations are still here and they have much to share with you about their individual expertise, lives and country.
I can’t wait to meet you and show you around!
What fun! I’ve always dreamed of visiting other countries. I can’t wait to see even more. Hope you take lots of photos!
Thank you Rena for your kind words. I hope you travel alot , too!
Sincerely,
